In March we will officially open our doors at our new location in Westlake. Until then, you can still visit us on Burnet Road and shop to your heart's content! We are currently offering many new classes, listed for you below. When you want to learn, we will be here to teach you! And of course during our regular store hours, you can always just come in and "Make it today, and wear it tonight!" Our New Class Offerings... Spiky Fringe Bracelet $35 This Class is the perfect introduction to bead weaving. You will utilize the stringing and crimping techniques from Basic Bead Stringing. Once we have the foundation strung up, the real fun begins! We will be suing needle and thread to weave in and out of the "base beads" to create a fun, spiky fringe. Wire Wrapping Essentials $35 The focus of this class is to learn the "wrapped loop", a valuable technique to master so you can create your own unique earrings, chains and pendants. We will also cover how to make different types of headpins, which will help to make your designs cost effective. The best way to learn is "Practice, Practice, Practice!" - and that's what we'll be doing. Knotting Bracelet $25 Learn to make knots in between beads. This technique is classically used to string pearls, but all beads look great knotted up. We will be using diamond point tweezers or an awl to place knots with precision. You will also learn how to use those clamshell findings! The secret to perfecting the technique is PRACTICE. We have a large selection of beads available for purchase for your project, but feel feel to bring your own beads. Beaded-Bead Earrings $30 These beads are so glamorous! Make two and we will transform them into dazzling earrings. Te technique is two needle Right Angle Weave. This is fun for the first time bead weaver and for the more advanced beader! you will get hooked on making these and they make awesome gifts! Kumihimo Bracelet 2 part class $60 This is an ancient, 8-strand Japanese braid. The technique is VERY SIMPLE to master, but the result is impressive in its complexity! Beaded Dream Catcher $50 Make your own beaded Dream Catcher! These make great personalized and heartfelt gifts. This is a fun project to make for yourself using charms and stones to tell a personal story. You can use any beads, theme, or motif your heart desires. The Dream Catcher is also a stunning sun-catcher when you mix in Swarovski crystals! Basic Spiral Rope Bracelet $35 The spiral rope is a great stitch for any jewelry maker! In this class you will learn how to start the spiral and to finish off at least one end. You will gain the knowledge of how to tie off your thread. This is stitch is very versatile and we will discuss possible variations on the pattern. Fun for all levels! *And of course we still offer our original favorites...* Beading Basics $50 Class fee includes all materials! The focus of this class is to teach you the basic techniques and tools needed to create a pair of interchangable earrings and a necklace with sterling silver toggle clasp. All the materials needed to complete this lovely set are included in the price of the class! A Charming Good Time! $25 Come with friends or make new ones at Lapis Lane!
